Scotch Single Malt - Islay - 2014
International Wine & Spirit Competition
What's in a name? Bowmore 10 Year Old Devil's Cask whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Bowmore 10 Year Old Devil's Cask whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Like one of those cakes that you set on fire at Christmas. Christmas cakes? One of those, but on fire.
Palate: A spicy dram. Warm dark fruits and chocolate.
Finish: Very long.
Overall: Devilishly good. Terrible pun, but great whisky.
I was lucky to try this one at the Bowmore Distillery. All the bottles were sold out except one which they had for tasting. It is full of taste, peat and fruit but still elegant for a so powerful whisky.

There is so much to this scotch, but in the end, it is very tasty. I managed to get two bottles and will probably pick up at least two more before people realize how good this is. I have only just tried a bit of it.

The reviews of this whisky make good reading. If you can get hold of a bottle, then you've done well!
