Bowmore 9 2001 Bottling Note
This was distilled at Bowmore in 2001, and initially aged in bourbon casks. It was then taken a few miles down the road to the Bruichladdich distillery, where it was finished in Port Pipes before bottling in 2010. A release of 1,066 bottles.
Nose: Hints of peat on the nose, and coastal air. There are notes of toffee apples, vanilla, blackcurrants and burnt granary toast.
Palate: Loads of rich berry fruits. Dried cranberries, raspberries, and winter spice, particularly cinnamon, with cool wood smoke and tar.
Finish: Coastal and very fresh finish with hints of peppermint.
