Bowmore 16 Mission Bottling Note
Distilled in 1994, this Bowmore was initially aged in sherry wood. It was selected by Murray McDavid, and taken to the Bruichladdich distillery, where it was reracked into none other than the finest Chateau Petrus wine casks! It was bottled in 2010, and there are 1,100 bottles.
Nose: Blackcurrant, seaweed, and singed hemp ropes on the nose. Cut hay, rapeseed oil, some cherry liqueur sweetness, and a little hint of pepper.
Palate: Sweet, creamy and welll-rounded with notes of apricot, cherry, salt, burnt rubby and plum jam. Very interesting indeed.
Finish: Medium length with sweet plum jam, wild strawberries and spice.
