What's in a name? Benromach Sassicaia Wood Finish whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Benromach Sassicaia Wood Finish whiskey, rather than whisky.
I concur with the above. We picked up this little gem after a tasting and it is one of my favorite bottles. So many notes to really let a beginner develop tastes and senses.

This is a lovely whisky. It just does the lot. On the nose it is not challenging but encouraging, you can get all the elements clearly. To taste, it has light speyside sweetness with fruit, with tinges of vanilla, salt and malt (and loads more subtle - but my palate begins to fade - honey , spice?). The two guys who produce this stuff either need special award wands or medals. I think it is really special.
