Interesting fact… Benromach Sassicaia Wood Finish whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Benromach Sassicaia Wood Finish whiskey, instead of whisky.
This is a lovely whisky. It just does the lot. On the nose it is not challenging but encouraging,you can get all the elements clearly. To taste, it has light speyside sweetness with fruit, with tinges of vanilla, salt and malt (and loads more subtle - but my palate begins to fade - honey , spice?). The two guys who produce this stuff either need special award wands or medals. I think it is really special.
