Description

A triple distilled (!) whisky from BenRiach. This high strength 12 year old is aged in bourbon and finished in sherry casks. This is one of just a handful of its kind, and the first BenRiach to be triple distilled. Very interesting indeed, and at 12 years old and at 50% there's oodles of complexity.

Nose

Big and creamy with marzipan, Brazil nuts and a waft of melting Toblerone chocolate bars.

Palate

Hazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts and almonds with a sensually light body.

Finish

Creamy and silky, honey and a few more hazelnuts.

Overall

BenRiach fares well with triple distillation. The body is soft but in no way lacking flavour. Spectacularly nutty and creamy.
