Insider knowledge: Bennachie 10 Year Old whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Bennachie 10 Year Old whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Honey, smoke, cereals, sherry.
Palate: Hay, citrus, walnut, fruity.
Finish: Smoky and spicy, sweet.
I was unsure about tasting a vatted malt as single Speysides have always been my preference. What a surprise!! This Whisky demonstrates a gentle, fruity, smoothness of taste and character with a long and gentle finish, surpassed only by the 17 year old edition. An extremely drinkable Malt, which is replenished on every trip I make to Scotland.
