What's in a name? Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Elegant. White peach and a faint puff of smoke. Palate: Surprisingly delicate. Abounding, yet fine. Her sublime mouth feel carries, masterfully: red fruit, raisins, an edge of white grape and a very floral honey. Finish: Cocoa, slightly bitter as it tails away gracefully.
The Master of Malt
My favourite port of call!
I had a bottle of the 91 portwood and thought I'd upgrade after completing it. I have to say, the jump wasn't dramatic, but this really is an awesome Scotch. If you dont mind splashing out, this will really float your boat.
Very delicious!
I tried to drink it and I think it's best whisky, very delicious, I hope I can buy more...
