Sugared Almonds 1982 - Wemyss Malts (Aultmore)
A tasty single cask Aultmore from Wemyss Malts, this was distilled in 1982 and aged for 30 years in an American hogshead before bottling. The result is a release of 272 bottles with a distinct palate of "Sugared Almonds"!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Just as the name suggests, sugared almonds to the fore. Very nutty and sweet, with hints of barley sugar, grist, marzipan and calves leather. Danish pastries too.
Palate
Sweet and very spicy with notes of cardamom and hints of cassia bark, this develops on clove oil, black pepper and marzipan. Malty.
Finish
Long, salty finish - all becomes quite coastal. More of those pastries, which have become Cinnamon Whirls...
