Aultmore 28 Rare Auld Bottling Note
This was distilled at Aultmore in May 1982, it was then aged for 28 years in cask 2232, before being bottled for Duncan Taylor's Rare Auld range in May 2011. A release of 207 bottles.
Nose: Notes of apple, dried fruit, almond and rhubarb crumble. Just a hint of warm custard on that crumble, in fact.
Palate: Fruity again, with apple pies, cherry bakewell made with salty butter and a note of stewed fruits.
Finish: Good length with more cooked apples and a hint of tropical fruit. Very rich and clearly aged in an excellent cask.
