What's in a name? Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured 43% whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured 43% whiskey, rather than whisky.

Smooth floral/citrus nose, honey and citrus palate, nice finish,...a joy to quaff,...going to make this one a default malt when I need a reliable dram. Damn good.

Smooth and buttery. Its almost like werthers original put into a scotch. Absolute scotch heaven. None compares in quality nor price.

Very easy drinking and enjoyable. If you like extra peaty scotch, this is not it. Great over ice!

Great dram! Buttery smooth with a hint of sherry. I love this one. The guy below that prefers Johhny Walker Red must be on some kind of hallucinogen... Not even close in comparison.

So smooth you can really drink it straight up with out even adding ice. I honestly can't believe somebody prefers Johnnie Wa&%er red! He must have burned his tongue with a hot poker.

I only wish I had had some Highland Park for comparison. It was not possible for me to imagine how a whisky in this style / from this area could be improved. Sort of the apotheosis of Glenmorangie and Balvenie, my prior go-to faves.

Bought this in a ghetto "habib mart" style establishment on a Saturday night. The clerk saw I was willing to drop $50 on a bottle and opened a separate register to ring my transaction, despite the five people ahead of me, lol. The whisky itself is indeed a fine sherried dram, and the double cask maturation certainly shows in the flavor profile: smooth, lightly woody, sherry sweetness with citrusy notes and a hint of cognac!

I seem to be running against the grain here, but I find the sweet fruitiness to be overriding any hint that there is a bit of peat or malt involved. For the money it's ok, but I expect a bit more complexity and a lot less sherry.

I know this doesn't give me great credibility, but I legitimately didn't drink before I turned 21. This was my first purchase and first drink, and it is just amazing. I think I'll be ruined for any other kind of alcohol.

The folks at Aberlour hit the jackpot with this. Even those of us on a budget an enjoy a good scotch. This is easily the best Speyside scotch out there for the price. I'd even pay $50 or more for this. Got a bottle...you won't regret it!
Hands down my favorite scotch, less talk, more drink.

This is a wonderful single malt. You can spend more, but there is no need. Once you discover Aberlour 12, your search for the perfect, all-around whisky will be over.

This maple syrup colored dram is fantastic. There's butter and brown sugar on the nose. There's a bit of oak and almonds on the tongue, with a smooth, burnt brown sugar finish. This drink sweetens up a bit with just a touch of water. Definitely one of my favorites.

This Aberlour is very well done. Every drop is wonderful, right down to the nose when the glass is empty. Very fresh
