Nose: Lemon citrus with fresh hops, grapefruit and green apples. Not what one would expect from a 17-year-old whisky.
Palate: Toffee syrup first with vanilla, and then the lemon comes through again, fresh juice but also lemon curd. The end offers floral notes of heather and wildflowers.
Finish: Salted caramel and medow grass.
Overall: Surprisingly fresh and lively, this is a wonderful whisky.
