Cask-Aged Gin Batch 4 Bottling Note

This is the fourth batch of Professor Cornelius Ampleforth's wonderful Cask-Aged Gin. It was made by taking tiny "octave" casks (roughly a fifth of the capacity of standard hogsheads), and filling them with the legendary small-batch Bathtub Gin. The spirit was left to age for between three and six months.

Thanks to the comparatively large amount of surface-to-spirit contact from the small casks, the gin gained all kinds of complexity and flavour during these months.

The result is a spicy, intense gin, packaged with brown paper, string and wax.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Earthy, intense juniper on the nose, with hints of vanilla, butterscotch and dried herbs.

Palate: Tart berry fruits and allspice. Candied peels, oily juniper, potpourri and creamy vanilla. Very thick.

Finish: Rich, creamy finish with a hit of citrus.

Overall: An absolutely staggering gin!
