John Birnie, Manager of Glen Albyn distillery, and James Mackinlay in Inverness are commissioned by Charles Mackinlay & Co. to set up the distillery. The architect is Charles Doig.
1894
Production starts in December.
1906
John Walker & Co. buys part of the company.
1920
Mackinlay & Birnie Ltd buys Glen Mhor and neighbouring Glen Albyn.
1954
A Saladin box replaces floor maltings which makes Glen Mhor one of the first distilleries to introduce mechanical malting.
1972
The distillery is bought by Distillers Company Limited (DCL).
1980
Own maltings is decommissioned.
1983
The distillery closes.
1986
The buildings are demolished.
2001
A 22 year old from 1979 is launched in the Rare Malts series.
2005
A 28 year old from 1976 is launched in the Rare Malts series.
