Cabin Still Bourbon Reviews

May not make the list of the experts but it's at the top of mine.

Cabin Still had been my go to bourbon since 1965. I've tried them all, Weller's, Woodford, six to twelve year stuff. I keep coming back to my " Stab n Kill". In my humble opinion the best damn whiskey for the money in the country.

Nice smooth bourbon at a great price.

I have noticed that the good old Cabin Still Kentucky Straight Bourbon 36 month old whiskey has now become a blended bourbon whiskey with natural flavor added. Tastes pretty much the same as the "old" Cabin Still but still probably a sign of things to come with bottom shelf product.

One of the last of the good bottom shelf whiskeys

Nothing grand or complex, but a decent little sour mash with a pleasant spiciness. At $11 for a liter, I have no complaints. The rest of the low end bourbons seem to all be becoming "blended whiskies."

Full-bodied but not aftertaste.

I kind of like it. I've tried Benchmark and the last time it tasted like prune juice or something. Then Evan Williams Green, and I like it but the store was out. So I bought Cabin Still, and frankly it is a bull bodied, a little bit sweet, and not any after-taste.

Good value

For $11, it's pretty decent. My current go-to whiskey in college. I've had much worse for more money.

Most whiskey I can't drink on its own, this I can.

shame discontinued as would have bought again for family member.

It's cheap for a reason

When you consider the price, it's not that bad, nose is fairly uninteresting with no discernible oak influence. Palate is clean, the corn dominates all other notes and this follows through on the finish. Certainly a bottle you don't have to feel guilty about drinking too much of. If your looking for a bourbon to enjoy at the same price then go with Buffalo Trace or Old Fitzgerald. If your looking for a bourbon to finish amongst friends in a single evening then I'd go with Cabin Still.

joxer cat

just got a bottle of you fast delivery for sure . had a little sip it's a smooth corn taste to it with tinge of sour on the finish ; not as harsh as Jack Daniel n07 , the nose is similar ...on the whole a great whiskey . I'm usually a single malt man , but U.S. bourbons are quite unique in their own right and have a place up there with the best !

Cabin Still

I've been drinking Cabin Still for about 2 years and find it a good smooth bourbon at a moderate price.

A smooth sipping whiskey

This is an amazing whiskey at the price, smooth with a sweet nose and a clean finish. A great value whisky that proves you don't need to be rich to enjoy a good dram.

Dan, Lincoln

An extremely nice bourbon at a very reasonable price. It is nicely sweet, without being overpowering and has subtle undertones of peanut. Very smooth and dangerously drinkable. Highly recommended.
