The Chianti Classico Cortevecchia Riserva from Le Corti is made with a similar recipe as its Chianti Classico (with 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino grapes), but this expression is allowed some extra time to mature an develop its flavour profile. It spends 16 to 20 months maturing in oak (rather than 12 months in cement vats), and it gets an additional six months of rest in the bottle. As such, you can expect a bit more richness and spiciness from this one, while still getting the floral freshness and red fruits.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Delicately floral, with lavender, cooked berries and hints of red grape skin tannins, leading into undertones of subtle, polished oak and a pinch of pepper on the finish.
