Balcones Blue Bourbon Bottling Note

The Balcones distillery out in Waco, Texas, are well known for using blue corn in their spirits - they were the first to make a whisky using it! This right here is their very own bourbon, incorporating the brilliant blue corn in the mash-bill - a stonkingly tasty release from the inventive distillers...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fresh vanilla, coffee bean and a hearty dollop of honey. Toasted walnut and roast chestnut notes follow.

Palate: Cigar box, chocolate truffle, still quite nutty. A burst of spicy cinnamon at the core.

Finish: Molasses, caramel and a hint of fried bread.

Balcones Texas Blue Corn Bourbon Reviews

How Bourbon should taste !!!

This how bourbon should taste. It's absolutely gorgeous. I'm not a big bourbon fan and there are very few bourbons I like. All the common bourbons aren't that nice such as JDs in fact I think JDs is repulsive and only good as car wind screen washer fluid (wind shield for all you Americans) but this hits all the marks and this is actually competing for my top dram spot. I've never tasted bourbon like this and never knew it could get as good as this, it's blummimg blowen me away. Well done Chip Tate and the balcones folk 10 out 10 🥇
