Two very special whiskies lead Loch Lomond’s 2025 celebration of The Open. One crafted in collaboration with golfing legend Colin Montgomerie, the other aged for 22 years and finished in bold virgin oak, both bursting with distillery character and bottled at 46% or above.

A dram fit for the fairway. This limited edition celebrates Loch Lomond's long-running partnership with The Open, one of golf’s most iconic tournaments. Crafted by master blender Michael Henry and brand ambassador Colin Montgomerie, it’s matured in American oak barrels and hogsheads before a final flourish in first-fill Chianti casks, adding extra fruit and elegance to Loch Lomond’s classic profile.

It’s a brilliantly composed dram with fruity depth, gentle spice, and a soft whiff of Highland smoke – perfect for toasting a hole-in-one or just settling in for the back nine.

Loch Lomond 153rd Royal Portrush Open Course Collection 2025 Whisky

A 22-year-old single malt created in honour of The 153rd Open Championship, returning in 2025 to the rugged beauty of Royal Portrush. Master blender Michael Henry selected American oak casks and hogsheads for long, slow maturation before a bold finishing period in virgin Spanish oak. The result is a whisky with deep fruit, assertive spice, and refined complexity, as layered as the Royal Portrush course itself.

This release is part of Loch Lomond’s coveted Course Collection, bottled at 46.7% and steeped in golfing history. A serious dram for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Tasting notes

Nose

Ripe orchard fruits and golden honey lead, backed by toasted oak and a subtle wisp of smoke.

Palate

Juicy pear and apple wrapped in sticky toffee, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla pod. Hints of tobacco leaf and heather honey emerge.

Finish

Steam & Fire is a punchy, full-bodied release finished in heavily re-charred American oak for extra intensity. The name nods to Loch Lomond’s unique still set-up, using both traditional and straight-neck stills. The result is a robust whisky with dried fruit, warming spice, creamy vanilla, and a flicker of smoke running through it.
