'09 Vesevo Beneventano Bottling Note
This Italian wine is made from the Aglianico grape variety that prospers in the volcanic soils of Campania. This is the inspiration behind the winery's name, Vesevo, which relates to the volcano of Vesuvius.
Red currant and red cherry on the nose becoming earthier and more herbal on the palate. The finish is consistently fruity with notes of raspberries. This wine is fairly acidic with broad tannins and is ideal for drinking with a hearty lamb meal with a tomato sauce.
