French Wine

The world's second most prodigious wine producer (behind, perhaps surprisingly, Italy) France has long been considered the spiritual home of wine. Some are baffled by the labelling system (entirely geographical rather than by grape varietal), but armed with a bit of knowledge it's reasonably easy to pick it up. You say potato, I say potahto. You say Chardonnay, I say White Burgundy, You say Viognier, I say Condrieu... you get the picture.
