White Wine

What is it about White wine that tends to make it more prone to 'trending' (to coin a twitterism)? A decade ago, it was all about Chardonnay (with the unfortunate offspring to prove it), for the last few years it's been New Zealand Sauvignon (with thankfully fewer namesakes) , now both seem to have fallen from grace (with a few notable exceptions of course). Next big thing in this category? We're taking bets. We reckon Veltliner or Viognier. Something beginning with a 'v' anyway.
