'06 Moss Wood Cabernet
This Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon from Moss Wood was made from grapes grown in the cool growing season of 2006. Cool weather during the growing season is not something they are particularly accustomed to in Western Australian and by all accounts it took all of the effort of everyone on board to make this vintage work - and work it does. As you will see in the tasting notes, the effort put into this wine shines through splendidly.

Redcurrants and mulberries join malt, damp soil and 85% cocoa chocolate in a sumptuous, oaky aroma underpinned by the scent of cedar wood. The fruit remains fresh on the palate with perfectly ripe tannins and velvety mouth-feel. The finish is rich with notes of sensuous dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. This is a phenomenal wine which exudes character and has defeated the odds of a cool growing season.
