Sautereau Rose 2010
This is a family estate wine currently being made by David Sautereau who is taking a modern approach to the craft. In keeping with the Sancerre styles his wines display great minerality and classic gooseberry flavours. Sancerre is across the Loire Valley from Pouilly Fume, both of which are renowned for making great Suavignon Blancs. However this rosé is made from Pinot Noir which is pressed earlier than other red wines to create a fruity rosé.

A distinct aroma of raspberry greets the nose and is joined by creamy citrus notes on the palate. Then there is that classic Sancerre minerality with excellently crisp acidity. This wine is perfect for a relaxed Sunday afternoon.
