'11 Bel Air Pouilly Fume Bottling Note

Pouilly Fumé is so named because the Pouilly winemakers refer to the Sauvignon Blanc grape as Blanc Fumé because of the greyish, smoky (Fumé) bloom on the skin of the grape. Also, well made Pouilly Fumés have a flinty character which also explains the reference to smoke. This wine is great with goats' cheese and seafood.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A flinty aroma with perfumed fruit notes is chased by a mineral-rich palate with green and citrus fruit flavours and good acidity. The finish is lemony with hints of pear.
