Dog Point Pinot Noir 2009
Dog Point was founded by James Healy and Ivan Sutherland, who both previously worked at Cloudy Bay, in 2003. They harvest old vines and take a minimalist approach to winemaking, using naturally occurring yeasts as a part of this process. The Pinot Noir is aged in new and old French oak barrels for eighteen months prior to bottling.

The aroma is both floral and earthy creating a savoury character that opens into a bright flavour profile of red fruits and structured spice. The tannins are in no way over-bearing and the acidity is poignant but in no way sharp. An excellent wine.
