Nine Popes 2009 Bottling Note

Charles Melton began making wine in 1985 and hasn't looked back since. This wine is made in the Barossa vValley in Australia. However, Melton has tried to replicate the style of the French Rhone blend, Chateauneuf du Pape, by using the Grenache, Syrah (Shiraz) and Mouvredre grapes.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Some choc-chip cookie dough leading to macerating plums and a little anise on the nose. The palate picks up some spice and vanilla from oak ageing, and the tannins are firm yet supple.
