Contino is the estate arm of Rioja giant CVNE - meaning that all the grapes come from the Contino estate rather than using bought-in fruit as is normal in the region. In 2013 there was a hail storm that wiped out most of the crop so only 17 barrels were made - hence the name. It's a blend of 80% tempranillo, 13% graciano and 7% garnacha aged for two years in French and American oak. If you're having a dinner party then look no further than this Rioja magnum.
Ripe blackcurrant and strawberry fruit, still very fresh and young, with vanilla, coconut and almond notes. Ripe tannins that soften with meaty dishes.
