Splendid 2021 vintage Swartland Chenin Blanc from South African family producer Carinus. Aged in a combo of concrete eggs and old oak, it boasts a delightfully zesty profile, with delicate florals, and a hint of mineral salinity. Ought to be cracking with a carbonara.
Delicate notes of floral tea and melon lead to bold lemon zest and a touch of creamy curd. Herbaceous lemon balm and soft oak rest in the distance, with a pinch of anise and subtle brine.
