This Aussie whisky comes from the island state of Tasmania. When they are not being harassed by the Tasmanian devils they produce some of the best whisky being made south of the Equator at this moment. The whisky in this bottle was finished in French Oak Port Casks for a fruity flavour.
Melted dark chocolate and red wine gums open up a big fruity nose. Hints of anise, white pepper and coconut.
Jelly babies and a little more white pepper dominate the palate entry with cinnamon and a lick of fresh cut grass developing.
The finish is swift but substantial with fruitcake notes.
A full-bodied whisky that showcases what the Australians are doing well.

Brought a bottle of this earlier in the year and it was half the price of its current retail price, having said that there are several sites now selling it again and Masters of Malt is the cheapest by a long shot. A great Dram so grab it while you can.
This whisky wins an award and there are more non-reviews pilling up this whiskies page than most other whiskies. Hope the new batch is just as good as the last or there are going to be some seriously disappointed people.
This is beginning to get out of hand, what with the damb price and dragging on and on. What if you are the lucky one to get a bottle and you find for all the hyped up price and awards you don't like it and find it isn't worth the money and wait and the inconvenience to get hold of one. I think M.O.M should have reserve facility to make sure and once they have gone they have gone or a servey where they chose who will be afforded they opportunity to be invited to buy one as its unfair practice to ask us to keep checking when they are in stock and pot luck if you get one. Most of these are been sold to the Australian market there for we have to make do with what we get ! It might be a good idea to see if you can get one from a Aussie ship and get it shipped to your address !.
You've been saying that pretty much all year. Soon, it won't be the whisky of the year anymore! So all these awards you bumped up the price for will be pointless!
The bottles are due to drop around the first week of November. Please note that the supply will be extremely limited, so do check back and have your trigger finger ready! --The Chaps at Master of Malt
