This Aussie whisky comes from the island state of Tasmania. When they are not being harassed by the Tasmanian devils they produce some of the best whisky being made south of the Equator at this moment. The whisky in this bottle was finished in French Oak Port Casks for a fruity flavour.
Melted dark chocolate and red wine gums open up a big fruity nose. Hints of anise, white pepper and coconut.
Jelly babies and a little more white pepper dominate the palate entry with cinnamon and a lick of fresh cut grass developing.
The finish is swift but substantial with fruitcake notes.
A full-bodied whisky that showcases what the Australians are doing well.

My neighbour got a bottle as a gift. He opened it for Hogmanay and I was offered a dram. I honestly thought I got a rum! Was ok to drink but I didnt like the aftertaste.
Not much left and every drop is a gem. Get it if you can!
I have a few bottles and it's amazing. Seen some on ebay now for $700 and folk are buying them. I was recently at China Doll in Sydney and one shot was...... $125!

I tasted this recently and would love to stock my top shelf with this and the American Oak they distill. Liquid Gold.
