This Aussie whisky comes from the island state of Tasmania. When they are not being harassed by the Tasmanian devils they produce some of the best whisky being made south of the Equator at this moment. The whisky in this bottle was finished in French Oak Port Casks for a fruity flavour.
Melted dark chocolate and red wine gums open up a big fruity nose. Hints of anise, white pepper and coconut.
Jelly babies and a little more white pepper dominate the palate entry with cinnamon and a lick of fresh cut grass developing.
The finish is swift but substantial with fruitcake notes.
A full-bodied whisky that showcases what the Australians are doing well.

This is a fantastic whisky and is defiantly worthy of its award status. It's like Christmas cake with dark fruits and you can taste the malted barley as you can with all Sullivans cove whisky but it marries so well together with the finish leaving you with a chocolatey taste and bears all the hallmarks of a superb whisky. Strangly though it also has faint tastes of either dark rum or brandy I can't decide which yet as I can't put my finger on it. From nose right through to the finish it just keeps giving and you find more new exciting flavours as you drink it and as taste is subjective to the individual person drinking it, it all depends on what you can discover with this magnificent dram and even at the price it's at now you still won't be able to find a whisky as good as this until you start getting into serious money but that is just my opinion. Hope this helps you !.
Have you got a bottle of sullivans cove if you have what's it like
All the whingers on here, honestly! Everyone seems to think they have a God. Given right to buy a bottle of this stuff. Sorry but that ain't possible. Supply is limited. Therefore first come first serve is the fairest system, with max one bottle per customer ensuring that no one individual can take the p***. As for the price, it is no surprise that MoM are putting up prices in accordance with the ratio of supply vs demand. That's capitalism people!
