Starward Unexpeated
Starward is so good at making single malt matured in ex-red wine barrels. You could call it a star of a distillery. But that would be lame. So instead we're just going to tell what you probably already suspected: yes, Unexpeated has some peat in it. Specifically, it was finished in super-peated Islay whisky barrels to bring together two completely different worlds in one tasty whisky.

Nose
The nose is very tropical and fruity, with medicinal peat, cacao, and toasted oak.
Palate
Juicy red berries, coastal saltiness, toffee apple, milk chocolate, and hints of smoke.
Finish
Rich and earthy.
