Launceston 5 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) 50cl

The Launceston distillery is located in a historic aircraft hangar – built in 1932, Hangar 17 is the oldest surviving aviation building in Tasmania! Repurposed to become a distillery, the site is kitted out with stills made in the Tasmanian capital city of Hobart, clad in Tasmanian oak to retain heat. This single malt spent five years maturing in a bourbon barrel, before being bottled up at cask strength. It's fair to say Launceston has a clear focus on local ingredients and people, though we're not sure it goes quite as far as hiring Tasmanian devils, as the label on this bottle from That Boutique-y Whisky Company would have us believe. Now we're thinking about it, it's probably not actually run by a Westie in a suit named Angus either. A splendid addition to the Return to Oz series.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
