Brough Brothers Bourbon is the brilliant brainchild of Victor, Chris and Bryson Yarbrough in Louisville, Kentucky. A marvellous small batch Bourbon made with a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, resulting in a flavour profile boasting cooked fruit, vibrant spice and toasty oak notes. Great for sipping, but it also shines in some classic cocktail recipes, too - it does rather well in a Whiskey Sour, and makes a great Old Fashioned.

It’s a fresh, clean and sweet nose. Top notes of vanilla fudge play against ripe Granny Smith Apples and ground nutmeg. A little peppermint, milk chocolate, cherry and just a drop of freshly-squeezed lemon juice are present in the backdrop.
Similar to the nose the palate is clean and pure and starts out with more sweet notes, this time maple syrup, vanilla and doughnut. More red fruit, some woody tannins, a touch of earthy chilli heat and a hint of black tea add depth.
Toffee apples and baking spice round things off.

Nice and sweet, with a hint of spice. Impressive if this is as young as 6 months old. I get brown sugar, charred oak, rye spices and honey on the nose. Decent heat, viscous with lots of vanilla and oak on the palate. Not bad for 41% ABV.
Closest dram to a drain pour in my 2020 Advent. This was horrible, no character, watery. Nose was like some of the nasty hand sanitizers out there. Is there a Zero star available?
Great backstory..terrible whiskey! Couldn’t give the bottle away after a glass with friends.
Shelf turd belongs as low as you can stock it. It’s a mix of rubbing alcohol and mint. Too young to be considered whiskey but may make a good hand sanitizer.
Received as a gift and had high hopes but to be honest I couldn’t make it through the first glass.
