This is the second batch of deliciously sherried single malt from the Aberlour distillery, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Expect a rich, dark, spicy whisky with oodles of complexity coming through from a maturation in top-quality sherry wood. The bottle features a lovely illustration of the famous Mash Tun whisky bar/hotel in Aberlour. If you look closely you'll spot a terrified-looking man in the top window. We cannot say for sure who he is, nor why he is so fearful...
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
There are 298 numbered bottles.
Nose: Huge, juicy sultana notes. Apple peel, marzipan and stem ginger in syrup. A little dark chocolate, coffee and soft plumes of smoke.
Palate: Very spicy, fruity palate entry with notes of dark chocolate and treacle. Luscious Oloroso sherry, candied peels, gingerbread and chocolate malt.
Finish: Long, berried finish. Hints of brandy butter, baked apples and nutmeg. A very fruity whisky.
Overall: Absolutely fantastic cask influence here... This just oozes rich sherry...

Like no other! A bit of water added and waves of marzipan, fruitcake, and Christmas spice come through the rich, creamy texture. It finishes with luscious, bittersweet chocolate and gingerbread, making for a mouthwatering dessert! My wife reveres whisky as a man's drink and has never liked any dram she tried - until this one. She actually smiled real big and said she now understands my desire for whisky!
