A dry vermouth from the last independent producer in Chambéry. This region is the only one in France to have received an appellation d'origine contrôlée for its vermouths.
In other words, this lightly-styled vermouth is the real deal. It's made with natural ingredients (locally grown plants are macerated and only real sugar is used) as well as a large percentage of high-quality wine.
This is one of my favourite aperitifs since I discovered it at Andrew Edmunds in Soho. It's light and on the dry side, best by itself on ice I think. Maybe the vermouth for people who swear they don't like vermouth?
My only vermouth for a dry Martini. And I have tried most of them.
The best. Elegant and delicate. Why buy more expensive and worse quality vermouth ?
My favourite dry vermouth by a mile. Softer than Noilly Prat and a world apart quality-wise from Martini Extra Dry. Perfect. I can't fault it.
