Based in Sussex near Brighton, Georgina and John Bowell set up Goldstone with the aim to make rum from scratch. No bought-in spirits here. It's made from a mixture of jaggery (raw sugar), molasses and cane juice to produce an unaged rum that's packed full of flavour. Distilled twice in a copper pot still and in a vapour infusion column, with a little caramel colour added.
A smooth, sweet, earthy rum that tastes great mixed with ginger ale or just on its own with ice and a slice of lime.

Having been to countries in the the Caribbean and enjoyed my stays, I picked up a taste for local rums that have stuck with me. In the uk I find many big brand rums too sweet and almost mass produced. I stumbled across this absolute gem and I have to say it takes me back! Even better that it’s made in my local county of Sussex. The guys at Goldstone rum have lots of other types of rum directly which I found after researching them directly. Honestly a great find and well worth the price!
