A brilliant coconut liqueur from Edmond Briottet. Did you know, the word Coco comes from the Portuguese for monkey? Oh yes. Therefore, coconuts are actually monkey nuts! Monkey nuts, or peanuts, on the other hand, are named after the fact they are not nuts, they are actually beans (like peas, for example). Thus they were named for they are nut-like peas - peanuts! The coconut, however, is a drupe, not a true nut, because it has an outer fleshy part surrounding the shell.
