Jagermeister is a German liqueur that is traditionally drunk cold. It is made with 56 herbs and spices and gives off a strong, unique flavour. Jagermeister is often used in mixed drinks, but can also be enjoyed on its own.
Jagermeister is German for "the master of the hunt". The label is part of an old tale of Hubertas, who created the drink. After his wife died he walked to the woods to go hunting and saw a stag with a cross betwixt its antlers.
Jägermeister has a long history, dating back to the early 1800s. The recipe for the liqueur was created by Wilhelm Jägermeister, a German pharmacist. Jägermeister became very popular among hunters and forest workers, who would drink it before going out into the woods. The popularity of Jägermeister continued to grow, and today it is one of the most popular liqueurs in the world.
