Laphroaig whisky since 1815
Laphroaig whisky
Laphroaig has to be one of the most distinctive single malts around. It has a flavour profile like no other that some people find impossible to resist.
It owes its unique taste to Islay peat which is derived from seaweed giving Laphroaig its distinctive phenolic tang. The distillery is one of the few left in Scotland that has its own floor maltings.
Laphroaig 10 Year Old Whisky
A unique single malt bursting with smoke and coastal character.
Laphroaig 10 Year Old Whisky
With its smoke and iodine flavour profile, Laphroaig 10 Year Old has to be one of Scotland's most characterful drams. But there’s more to it than just peat, there’s citrus fruit and a balancing sweetness from over ten years ageing in bourbon casks. It was first released in 2004 and has gone on to be a classic winning awards and admirers around the world.
An icon of Islay
Dating back to 1815, Laphroaig was founded by Donald and Alexander Johnstone and remained in the family's hands until 1954, when Ian Hunter, the last relative of the Johnstones, died. His legacy is honoured with a series of special rare releases.
Now in the hands of Beam Suntory, Laphroaig produces one of the world's most distinctive whiskies with its medicinal smoky taste. No wonder it is said to be the favourite single malt of King Charles III.
