Other brandies from around the world

Outside of Cognac and Armagnac, there are other French brandies with brands such as St. Remy and Bardet sourcing their grapes from all over the country.

Many other countries have their own brandy traditions. South Africa, Spain and Armenia are famous for their own grape brandies made using Cognac-style stills with long ageing in wooden casks. Metaxa in Greece produces a popular brandy that is flavoured with sweet muscat wine.

There are also apple brandies produced all over the world such as applejack from America with brands such as Laird and in England with the Somerset Cider Brandy Company.
