Delord Armagnac was started in 1893 by Prosper Delord. He was a travelling distiller. He founded the Delord distillery in Lannepax. The Delord family has kept this tradition. They blend old methods with a deep knowledge of making Armagnac.
Production Process
Making Delord Armagnac is careful work. It begins with choosing grapes from Bas-Armagnac. This region's sandy soil gives the brandy a delicate, fruity taste. They use grape varieties like Ugni Blanc and Baco.
The grapes are fermented and then distilled in a column still. This method is special to Armagnac. It keeps the grapes' rich aromas. The spirit then ages in oak barrels. This gives it colour, complexity, and flavour. Delord ages some Armagnacs for decades. This adds vanilla, spice, and fruit notes.
Product Range
Delord has various Armagnacs. Young ones show fresh, fruity tastes. Older ones have more complexity. They offer vintage Armagnacs from specific years. They also blend different vintages for balance.
Tasting Experience
Tasting Delord Armagnac is a journey. Young vintages have bright fruit flavours. Older ones offer rich tastes like caramel and toffee. They also have a smoothness from ageing in oak.
