Rosebank Distillery has added another line to its résumé: a cameo on a BBC quiz show.

The Falkirk distillery is known for its popular revival following years as a cult ghost whisky, but now has also appeared in the new BBC2 celebrity quiz, Do You Know Your Place?

Hosted by Vernon Kay, each episode explores a different UK location, firing trivia questions at a panel of celebrity contestants. This week’s destination was Falkirk, which meant the show dropped by Rosebank, along with the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel.

A quick whisky fact for primetime

You can spot the distillery about 11 minutes into the episode on BBC iPlayer if you fancy skipping straight to the whisky.

The panel, featuring Nitin Ganatra, Rev Kate Bottley and Gladiator Apollo Alex Gray, were asked a classic whisky question: “Which country drinks the most whisky in the world?”

Do you know it? Ganatra certainly did, naming India, which is the correct answer. It seems quiz shows and whisky trivia mix rather well. Though we all knew that, didn’t we?

Where to try the “World’s Best Whisky”

Rosebank’s recent run of fame doesn’t stop there. King Charles III and Scotland’s First Minister both sampled the distillery’s 31 Year Old earlier this year, part of the rare Legacy Trilogy drawn from pre-1993 casks.

Visitors can now try it themselves through a new distillery experience called Discover the World’s Best Whisky, which includes a tour, a tasting of the 31 Year Old, and a glimpse of the new spirit laid down since Rosebank reopened. Or you can buy a bottle here. Very convenient.

From lost distillery to BBC quiz cameo. Not a bad second act.
