Wakefield wines are based in South Australia, not in West Yorkshire, in case you were wondering. This chardonnay from the superior Wakefield Estate range comes entirely from grapes grown in the cool Clare Valley. It was fermented in a mixture of French oak barrels and stainless steel for a mixture of fresh fruit and richer creamy notes. The result is a complex, fresh chardonnay that makes a great Burgundy alternative. Try this with poached salmon and Hollandaise sauce.
White peach, lemon and pineapple on the palate with zingy fresh acidity and a toasty, nutty finish with a little vanilla on the finish.
