
Nebbiolo might be all the plaudits, it is after all the grape of Barolo and Barbaresco, but when most Piedmontese eat out, they plump for the far more affordable and accessible barbera (all these words beginning with 'b' are confusing, aren't they?) It produces fruity, fun wines that go brilliantly with the local food.
Plump dark cherries and plums, full texture with very gentle tannins, a bittersweet dark chocolate edge and a refreshing finish.
