Helmsman is mainly shiraz with a little ruby cabernet, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Most of the fruit comes from New South Wales with some coming from South Australia. It's made by top family-owned Australian Robert Oatley. This is a great Sunday lunch sort of wine.
Red fruits like cherries and strawberries with cloves, cinnamon and dark chocolate.
We tried this wine for the first time, it is a very enjoyable easy drinking wine, that compliments any dish.
