This is the oro or gold version of Masi's classic Campofiorin which has long been one of the most reliable wines in Valpolicella. It's made mainly from a mixture of corvina with some rondinella and the very rare oseleta. The wine is fermented once and then a second time with some dried corvina grapes added and then aged in a mixture of French and East European oak producing a wine that has some of the heady spice of an Amarone. This would be delicious with wild boar sausages.
Maraschino cherry fruit with subtle raisin notes, full-bodied and smooth with cloves, camphor, cinnamon, figs and toasty leathery notes on the finish.
