Marques de Murrieta are one of the grand old names of Rioja. They've been making some of the regions best wines since the 19th century. The reserva is a great place to start exploring this famous producer. It's made form a blend of 87% tempranillo, 6% graciano, 5% mazuelo, and 2% garnacha, and spends 18 months in 225 litre American oak casks followed by another 18 months in bottle. Unlike Bordeaux, Rioja is sold ready to drink. If you're roasting a leg of lamb then look no further. We recommend decanting this as it really opens it up.
Spicy oak on the nose, tobacco, touch of mint, red cherry. Light to medium body, with strawberry fruit, ripe tannins, and lots of nutty oak.
