Full ripe Chianti here made with 90% sangiovese, 5% canaiolo and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Traditionally Chianti was aged in large oak barrels which don't add any wood flavour but this one uses some French oak barriques into the mix adding spice and colour. The result is a smooth, distinctive Tuscan wine that would be splendid with some veal chops.
Bittersweet dark cherries and sweet blackcurrants, smooth ripe tannins with dark spices, vanilla and toasty oak.
