Master distiller Elizabeth McCall drew inspiration from Woodford Reserve's previous creative releases and partnerships with famous Sonoma County wineries when experimenting for this expression. It's a straight Kentucky bourbon whiskey finished in Sonoma County pinot noir and brandy barrels, plus former Woodford bourbon barrels that were then used to age red wine, resulting in a spice-forward profile, laced with fruit and vanilla.
Jammy red plums, grilled pineapple, dusted with sweet spices and vanilla cream.
Vinous fruit and summer berries join floral vanilla, butterscotch, and mellow oak char.
Tannic spices gather for the finish, with wine-soaked oak lingering.
