An excellent 10 year old bourbon from the Widow Jane range. This expression is distilled in Kentucky and brought down to bottling strength in New York with water from the Widow Jane mine in Rosendale. Every bottle is drawn from a single barrel, so alongside its core flavour profile, each one will have unique elements coming through.
Buttered rye bread, cigar box, butterscotch and mince pie filling.
Earthy vanilla pod, salted caramel, dried cherry, sandalwood.
An enjoyably oiliness lingers, balanced by brown sugar.
$33.25 - $94.34
Got a sample dram with my last order (Thank you MoM!). Not well versed in rye, so this was a nice change. Very smooth, with all the sweetness as described. I'm often dubious about tasting descriptors, but definitely cherry on the finish. If it was a bit more affordable it would get the full 5 stars.
Got a free dram in the post with my last order. Writing this review to remind me to buy if its on sale. Lovely stuff!
Absolutely beautiful neat, don't add water as it loses it's magic.
It’s a birthday present but I know he’s had it before and enjoys it. The delivery was amazingly quick and very efficient, the gift box beautiful. I am very impressed and I’m sure he will be too.
This is a great dram. Rich, robust bourbon bomb given only 91 proof. Delivers great spice, tobacco, molasses, caramel, buttery vanilla, like a pecan and brown sugar pie in a bottle. However, quite pricey , so if on a budget wild turkey 101 or Rare breed delivers a fine bourbon experience for much less. But again, in terms of blending bourbon , this is a home run.
